Postby Skippy » Tue Jan 01, 2019 6:37 pm

Here's to kicking off a fresh topic for the new year
I am an optimist for good news and tight lines for 2019.
So please report both good and poor fishing news.
Hope to be back on the water one of these days before time runs out

Have the tuna reports now become classified information?

I think once someone starts going out and actually catches some tuna , then the reports will come for sure

I have not caught a tuna this year yet . Hopefully if weather and fish co operate then some tuna can be caught and someone can post some news

Fish have been good and one one for last week.

at least 6 boats out there today recreational

few fish close to 100 have come out

last week a couple boats had 8-12 yellows 50-70kg.

I think like all modern fishing, sharing of info has gone back to contacts only im afraid. open forums less and less.
only weigh it when it does not fit in the box

Was out last Sat and our boat landed 1 x 81kg and 1x 85kg. No fire works but they out there, big strong fish.Yesterday we were one of the only recreactional boats out again and were very happy with another 85kg beaut. Crazy thing about this fish is that my mate and I hooked the same fish. The fish took both our baits and game on, it didnt take long to realise we both fighting the same fish. There after with sychronized retrieval the fish was at the boat in 20mins as it now had 20kgs of drag on it. These fish are long and skinny but man, they can fight!

Huge full moon at the moment which normally affects tuna catches dramatically. Hopefully tuna fishing will pick up nicely by mid next week.
