Charter recommendation

Post by HoundDog » Mon Jun 29, 2020 9:53 am

Hi guys

I'm busy arranging a week long fishing trip next year April where we want to aim to fish around 4 times.

I'm looking for a charter that can accommodate 5 or 6 people, and ideally one that has a comfortable cabin.

Can anyone recommend a tuna charter that has a high hit rate with a boat as per the above specs?

Where will you be staying - ideally you don't want to have to drive an hour or more to a boat?
There are options in Hout Bay, Simonstown and Gordons Bay.
Also try and choose dates that are not on the competition calendar - the good boats will all be booked for those dates.

We currently have accommodation available at either houtbaai or close to Simonstown.

I would prefer not to launch from Gordon’s, given the extra travel time just to get out of the bay.

When is the comp?

Comp dates are still not available due to the postponement of all 2020 comps.
I would probably go with Hout Bay in case the fish are further in the west which may happen later in the season

Try Hooked on Africa or Reel Thyme. Can also try Two Oceans Sports Fishing or Fish Tales.
