During our last 3 trips to the deep we have seen many pieces of fish on the sounder and many more in the chumline and really battled to get them to take bait. I am wondering if when the fish are shy, switching off the sounder would help. We do it for kob and geelbek.............

Off. There was a great video posted a few years ago (I think by Hummingbird) of trout in a pond being affected by the sounder. So much so, that after 10 seconds or so of continuous bombardment they moved away from the cone that was positioned under a stationary boat. The details have since been removed as it is not exactly good for business.
