Any news from your trip ?

I was there 16-18 Oct - lots of fresh water still. Plenty small steenies and grunter on prawn and worm but nothing to write home about.

Going again 12-15 November, hoping for more decent fish

Hi Guys

Had our annual trip last week, We fished between powerlines and boathouse, delivering varied catches!
Water was very brown, and salinity varied between the spring tides but maintained 18-20 degrees throughout the trip. The brown water resulted in some of the grunter coming out gold/yellow?? First time i have seen that!
We managed lots of small grunter/steenbras and also managed to land a 8kg Carp (on mudprawn) and 2 freshwater barbel
Biggest grunter was near the 80cm mark, but also landed a few in the 60cm bracket.
Kept 3 60cm grunter for the braai over the week, always leke to have a fresh one on the coals as a starter!
Only managed 2 undersize cob (+-50cm) and the leerie didn't seem to be around.
The devil fish  (B@rb3l) were very much around!!!! Tiny little things, difficult to manage, so there were some finger casualties :-x :-x :-x

Overall successful trip!

Hi Guys,

As an update, we also fished the area from powerlines down to the Boathouse. We caught three 'freshwater barbel' on the live bait intended for kob and plenty of carp (the biggest just under 11kgs)

We are hoping to be back in January and have better luck.
