If my reading of this https://www.gov.za/sites/default/files/ ... gon122.pdf is correct then the restricted zone (no fishing) is the cross hatched block to the west of the island. So, unless you after hotties, yellowtail/snoek fishing is going to basically be no longer.
From the various news reports on 2 and 3 April 2019, “The DEA is in process of finalising the Gazette as part of the process''. Quite what this means from a timing perspective is anyone's guess

Well to be honest, Robben hasn't really produced anything worth mentioning in recent years so I can't really say that I'm too upset if they stop all fishing there.

From what I know , it takes from this point ( after its been gazetted) Year and a half to come into action or to be enforced.
