AHOY!

A bit late, but here is my latest Tail news. (tuna fishing has taken up the time...)

29 April

We have had freezing water in the bay and around the point here by 13 odd deg. Finally the SE stopped blowing and we needed to get our fix. Monday was to be the day.

Speaking to the pro's that know..... we launched out of a dark and misty Millers. 14.0 deg at the slip.

We could see zilch around us, not even the big mountainside so it was all faith on the Garmin plotter.

As we headed to Smits we located a tiny "bubble" of warm water 14.30deg, literally 100 by 60 meters against the kelp.

Backlines out.....vas!!! (far-trolled raapies - fish not keen on spinners as they were deep)

As the mist lifted other boats joined in...…

We waisted time going to look for greener pastures off the point...….13.5 deg!

PS: Does anybody use a spreader with teasers for tail on the troll, and any success?

Cheers,
