Excalibre 185 opinion needed please

Post by Dinkim » Sun Jun 09, 2019 10:57 am

Happy weekend friends,

Does anyone own or have owned a Excalibre 185? Would you mind giving me a couple of Pro's / Con's

Looks pretty decent and thinking of getting a second hand one. :D

Kind regards,
Dinkim

Hi there

The 185 and the Interceptor 186 are similar in design with minor differences, they are both great vessels all depending on what you want to use them for, Flamingo 180 is slightly smaller on deck and even slightly higher in floor height, your best bet would go to view as many of these boats as you can.

Here is a full walk around video of my Interceptor 186:

Hi Intermax,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Myself, wife and kid are looking at using the boat mostly on the Knysna lagoon, Swatvlei and Island Lake.

Deck space is a bonus, I'm glad to hear that! I'll be viewing a 185 shortly.

The flamingo 180 looks fantastic but also come with a price..

Thanks again.

the 185 and 186 as mentioned are great layouts through out.

I have only seen the Flamingo 180 in a show room, they look really good but their decks are smaller because their transom areas are bigger, I actually think the boat is smaller than a 186 by quite a bit because I think they measured it all the way to the end of the swim platforms where the 186 is not measured to that point.

The 180 looks really good with all its smooth lines, it will be more expensive because it is a much more modern and recent build than the others.

@ Intermax... There seems to be an error on the YT clip. Please either post again or copy & paste a link.
