fishing boat

Post by Meribrili » Fri Jun 28, 2019 12:42 pm

What basic equipment do i need for a small fishing boat? I'm planning on buying a small fishing boat this weekend for fishing around the gower peninsula, and would like to know what are the basic bits of kit i need to get started? The boat itself is 15ft in length and comes with a 50hp outboard engine and trailer. Everything else i'm going to need to buy seperatly, except for the fishing tackle which i already own.
Many thanks. :D
Has anybody here tried one of those cheap ice fishing cameras from ebay? I'm thinking of rolling the dice on one as an additional way to keep my kids entertained. Not interested in sinking a lot of cash into one since I prefer my marcum and don't anticipate the camera getting a ton of use.

The boat will need to be seaworthied with a certain category rating. From there you will receive a long checklist from the surveyor of what's required.

The lower the rating the less you'll need. ... checklists

I think you are confusing us .... :)

According to your profile you are based in Dronten, which is in the Netherlands. You mention that you want to use your boat around the Gower Peninsula, which is in The UK.

You may need to check with your local authorities what requirements applies for your country.
