Anyone seen these boats up close or went for a cruise on one? Looks like a nice setup and layout.

I saw this advertised on Gumtree... There's also the question if it's the same as the Profish but it seems not ... The listing doesn't mention an 18'6. viewtopic.php?f=64&t=4358&start=140#p89314

Hi, 18.6 is confusing. It is actually a 6m boat (so 19.6ft).

Go read this thread and decide for yourself if it is the same boat as the one Jean le Roux developed at African Skiff.

So yesterday morning, I decided to get the info from the horse's mouth... I phoned Kevin at Blue Ocean Boating, got voicemail and 24 hours later, have not been called back. Why would anyone go to the effort of posting an ad and then not respond to a potential client?

I have a general rule … if someone selling a high value product like a boat only advertises on facebook and Gumtree, be careful

Ok... So I got a call back from Kevin at Blue Ocean today, apologising profusely for taking a week to return my call. Apparently, he's been a busy man.

He bought the Profish designs off Jean and has made a few changes, added a few designs and re-branded as Atomic.

So they claim its a proven hull.
Would like to know who was part of the testing and development to hear their opinions.

Looks like a beautiful design.

See the entire Profish thread... There's a lot of discussion on the hull here http://boatfishing.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=4358

I know there are one or two in SA and then a few in Seychelles apparently.

I saw and read the entire thread and it looks like the same boat, (colour scheme etc) That was why I asked as to why its called a tried and tested hull design, if it looks like the very same pilot project boat that never got sold... However I might be mistaken though.
The boat is also referred to a 19'6'' and retails for 285k.
