Vhf radio operators and station license

Post by Jpfish » Thu Oct 10, 2019 7:21 pm

Hi guys have recently about a month ago applied for my operators license. Received a temporary license. Can those who have applied successfully please let us know what the lead time is on this.
Same as with the ship station application.
How long after your application do you start pestering them for a response.
Thanks
Regards
John

Not sure what the norm is, but I was surprised to get an email to say mine is ready for collection at SAMSA less than a month after I did the course.

Thanks for the reply. Phoned ICASA this morning and now have station license. Have temporary SAMSA operators license apparently can take up to six months or more, meaning that I would have to take out another temporary till the real one is issued. Not quite sure why this has to take that long to process.regards.
