Marlin season

ON friday trolling strip baits on the outside of the 12 we had one fish on on and another ate the strip as Philippa was clearing lines and swam to the boat faster than she could retrieve only to spit the bait out at the boatside when the swivel hit the top eye. I had a pitch bait ready for the whole day which I replaced in favour of a new plug given to me to test. The fish had a look at the plug but wanted something a bit more tasty, I think. Anyway a double hookup 1 on the Stella would have probably ended in tears. Here's the Stripey of about 150lb. The black went about 300.

Nice going and an excellent ratio - typical that they come in when the pitch is not ready / substituted / being rerigged! That fruit salad seems a popular colour in Struis.
