Prop advice 21ft butt cat

Post by Captain »

Hi All.

I have a Butt Cat 21 ft (2005) hull.
No issues on boat or anything she is running 100%.

I have 2x DF60AV Suzuki's on her with 12P props.
With the 13.75 x 12P props i get 6000 - 6100 rpm WOT @ 45.5km/h.

I just got a nice deal on solas rubex 13.75 x 13P props.
So essentially going up 1 pitch.

What can i expect from fuel economy, torque, time to plain and such, I currently cuise at 5100 to 5200rpm @38kmh and hoping to bring that to 4700rpm cruise @ 38kmh.

motors are 2014 models.

Anyone else have any advise or a similar setup perhaps?

Boat: kayak to duck to skiboat to cruiser to sportfish to skiboat to duck...
Best catch: 15:1 blue, 10:1 black, 10:1 sail

You should gain in everything except hole shot - although the gains will be limited, if not marginal in some cases.
One inch equates to around 200 RPM in an ideal world. Your top end should increase to around 49/50 and you should run 4900/5000 for 38 kmh.

Most decent boat shops will allow you to test props if you put a deposit down.

Not in Mozambique unfortunately
boat is kept and operated in moz, So dealers and deposits is far fetched.

Will test it and report back, Thanks for the advise.
